What is Cloud Computing? Benefits of adopting cloud computing.

Fagusian July 31, 2021 0 Comments

Cloud computing is an on-demand technology service to deliver compute services, scale up and scale down resources, storage, server, application & software as per the business requirement to save operational cost. You will pay for the resource you will use on per demand basis and manage the infra services seamlessly.

What is Cloud computing services ?

In Simple terms, Cloud computing refers to the provision of services via the Internet. These tools and resources include software, servers, databases, and data storage.

Cloud computing refers to any service that is delivered over the internet to deliver hosted services.

These comprehensive services are easy to use and offered by cloud service providers. Cloud platforms are developed of infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and Software as a service (SaaS).
A cloud can be either public or private. A public cloud allows anyone to access its services via the internet.

A private cloud is a network or data center that provides hosted services with limitations.

Why we need adopt cloud computing ?

There are many reasons why cloud computing is so important today. The main reason to adopt Cloud computing is to access services with ease, scalable computing resources, and save operational costs. There are a few more reasons to adopt Cloud computing services.

The significant impact cloud computing has on cost savings is one of the main reasons that many small and large businesses around the world use it today.

Yes, cloud computing has had a significant impact on the infrastructure cost including software and hardware.

Cloud computing service providers can handle all aspects of server maintenance, installation, upgrades and renewal.

Cloud allows us to access all data and applications anytime, anywhere, via the internet.

Cloud can not only store data remotely, but also recovers any lost or crashed data. This gives us high security and we don’t need to worry about data being lost or crashed.

Cloud allows us to access any information and applications anytime, anywhere, via the internet. You can install and update the application promptly.

Types of Cloud Computing Services

The Cloud Computing model allows convenient on-demand availability of computing resources (e.g. networks, servers, and storage) that can quickly be provisioned and released with minimal service provider interaction.

Fast, reliable, and secure services are the organizational needs and the companies are facing an IT infrastructure and operational cost to the company. Cloud computing helps to develop and maintain a secure, robust, scalable, and reliable IT infrastructure.

Basically there are three model of cloud computing

  1. Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS)

Infrastructure as a Service is a type of cloud computing that offers virtualized computing resources via the internet.

IAAS model is where a third-party provider hosts hardware and software as well as servers, storage, and other infrastructure components for its customers.

Service providers can also host user applications and manage tasks such as system maintenance backups and resilience planning.
It is highly scalable and can be adjusted as needed. This makes them a good choice for temporary, experimental, or unexpectedly changing workloads.

It offers the ability to automate administrative tasks, dynamic scaling, and desktop virtualization, as well as policy-based services.

It also includes the ability to automate administrative tasks, dynamic scaling, and desktop virtualization, as well as policy-based services.
Although technically, there is a low barrier to entry in the IaaS market, it will require significant financial investment to support and build the infrastructure.

OpenStack, a mature open-source cloud management platform like OpenStack, is available to all and provides a strong software foundation for companies looking to create their cloud or join the public cloud.

These services are charged in a “pay-as-you go” model.

You are charged according to factors like how much storage you use and how much processing power you consume over a specific time period. Customers do not have to manage infrastructure.

Instead, the service provider is responsible for ensuring the resources and availability they contracted.

  1. Software as a Service (SAAS)

Software as a Service (SAAS) refers to a distribution model that allows software applications to be hosted by a vendor and made available over a network, usually the Internet.

As the underlying technologies for Web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA), mature, SAAS has been a more common delivery model.

New development approaches have also made SAAS more popular. SAAS is closely linked to the ASP (Application Service Provider) and the on-demand computing software delivery model.

Cloud computing is a way to deploy software, applications within on-demand subscriptions.

It’s a great tool for CRM, and applications that require a lot of web or mobile access (such as mobile sales management software).

SaaS can be managed centrally and ideal for short-term projects.

  1. Platform as a Service (PAAS)

Platform as a Service is a cloud computing model that provides applications via the internet.

PAAS model is being used where a cloud provider provides software and hardware tools to its customers as a service. The hardware and software are hosted by a PAAS provider on its infrastructure.

It allows users to create or run new applications without the need to purchase hardware and software in-house.
Its services provider helps to provide key services such as Java development, application hosting, and support all the underlying computing and software.
PaaS, which is slightly more specialized than IaaS, provides all the tools through the cloud and allows customers to create whatever they want. Rather than infrastructure, PaaS provides the framework needed to build, test, deploy, manage, and update software products.

It uses the same infrastructure as IaaS but also contains the operating systems, middleware, and databases necessary to create software applications.

PaaS is a great tool for companies that create software or web-based apps. Many of the tools needed to develop for multiple platforms (computers, mobile devices, browsers, etc.) can be quite expensive.

By using PaaS, customers can access the development tools they need, when they need them, without having to purchase them outright. Remote development teams can access the same resources to accelerate product development because the platform is available over the internet.

Many PaaS tools include extensive pre-coded apps that can be used to speed up product development and allow companies to get their products on the market quicker.

Advantages of adopting Cloud Computing

Cloud computing can be described as computing that is entirely based on the internet.

Cloud computing services allow people to access software and programs that were downloaded from a server, or on a physical computer.

The most trending cloud computing services are the AWS Cloud Services (Amazon Web Services). Amazon offers a wide range of cloud computing services through this platform. It also offers RedShift and DynamoDB services, as well as Mechanical Turk.

Ever wonder why so many businesses are moving to cloud computing? Cloud computing has many benefits. Cloud computing can improve cash flow and efficiency, among other benefits.

These are the benefits of cloud computing

Low maintenance cost

Cloud computing is a service that provides the most cost-efficient model to the customers and saves a lot of costs based on the pay per usage model. It is easy to develop and manage software and hardware with lower maintenance costs

Storage capacity & Data backup

Cloud storage can store a lot of data. All your data in one place. It is easier to back-up data stored in the Cloud and then restores it using the Cloud.

Data security & Mobility

Cloud computing has many advantages, one of which is data security. Cloud computing provides many security features that ensure data is safe and secure. Cloud computing allows for easy mobile access to all cloud data.

Performance & Productivity

Cloud computing provides the highest performance to the services with great productivity and availability of the services, applications, infrastructures as they are managed in highly secure data centers with enhanced performance to provide quick services.
